Vessel #2

This one-of-a-kind ceramic vase was hand-thrown on the wheel and fired with the pit firing technique. The vase was placed in an open pit and surrounded by natural materials such as sawdust, seaweed, copper wire, salt and other organic materials. During the pit firing, temperatures rise unpredictably, allowing the smoke and flames to leave unique markings and colour variations on the surface—no two pieces are ever the same. Unglazed and purely fire-finished, this vase is a raw expression of earth, air, and fire.

These Vases are purely decorative- shouldn't be used with water.
